How do I buy extra AI credits on Martini?
Short answer
Top-up credits are pay-as-you-go credits you buy on top of your subscription. Open Settings, then Billing, then Buy Credits. Top-ups are added immediately, never expire, and are spent only after your monthly subscription quota is exhausted. Any paid plan can buy them; the Free plan cannot.
Where to buy a top-up
Sign in, click your avatar in the top right, and choose Settings. In the left sidebar select Billing. The page shows your current plan, your remaining subscription quota for the cycle, and your wallet balance. Click Buy Credits at the top of the wallet card. Choose the credit pack you want, confirm the payment method on file, and the credits post to your wallet within seconds.
Workspace owners and admins buy top-ups from the workspace Billing page rather than the personal one. Workspace top-ups go into the workspace pool and are spent by any member generating against the workspace plan. The same flow applies — open the workspace settings, Billing, Buy Credits.
Pricing tiers and how to choose
Top-up packs come in tiers of increasing size — small packs for one-off heavy days, larger packs at a better per-credit rate for ongoing buffers. The Buy Credits dialog shows the current per-credit rate for each tier so you can compare. Larger packs are cheaper per credit; pick the smallest pack that comfortably covers your expected overrun, and refill if needed. The credit cost shown on each node lets you estimate how far a pack will go for the kind of work you do.
Top-ups generally cost more per credit than the equivalent included in a higher subscription plan. If you find yourself buying top-ups every month, a plan upgrade is usually cheaper per credit than recurring top-ups. The Settings, Billing page shows recent top-up history so you can spot the pattern.
Spend order and expiration
Top-up credits never expire as long as your account is active. They sit in a separate wallet balance from your monthly subscription quota. When you run a generation, credits are drawn from the subscription quota first; the wallet is only touched after the subscription quota for the cycle is fully drawn. This protects the credits you paid extra for — heavy generations early in the month do not eat your top-up.
If you cancel your subscription, the wallet balance remains in the account and stays usable on the free tier or whenever you resubscribe. Plan changes — upgrade or downgrade — do not affect the wallet balance. The wallet is yours until you spend it.
Examples
- Buy a 5,000-credit pack — credits post immediately and never expire.
- Use the full monthly subscription quota by mid-cycle — subsequent generations draw from the wallet automatically.
- Cancel your subscription with 4,000 wallet credits remaining — they stay in the account after cycle end.
- Workspace admin buys a top-up — credits go into the workspace pool, spent by any member.
- Upgrade your plan a month after buying a top-up — wallet balance unaffected.
Edge cases
- Free-plan accounts cannot buy top-ups; upgrade to any paid plan first to unlock the Buy Credits button.
- Wallet credits are non-refundable once spent; the 7-day accidental-purchase window applies only when no credits have been used.
- Promotional or grant credits may have separate expiration; the offer terms specify if so.
- Top-ups bought on a personal account cannot be transferred to a workspace pool, and vice versa.
What to do next
- Open Settings, Billing and click Buy Credits to add credits in seconds.
- Pick the smallest pack that covers your expected overrun; you can buy more anytime.
- See the how-credits-work article if you are unsure how spend order and quota refill interact.
- Consider upgrading your plan if you buy top-ups every month — recurring top-ups cost more per credit than a higher plan.
