Do Martini credits roll over each month?
Short answer
No, monthly subscription credits do not roll over. They reset to your plan amount on each billing date and any unused balance is forfeited. Wallet top-up credits are different — they persist indefinitely and never expire as long as your account is active.
Subscription credits reset every month
Each plan grants a fixed monthly credit allotment that refreshes on your billing anniversary date. If your plan renews on the 12th, your subscription quota refills on the 12th of every month. Whatever you didn't spend in the previous cycle is cleared at that moment — there is no carry-forward and no proration. This is consistent across every plan tier.
The reset happens whether or not you used the credits. Heavy month, you spend all of them. Light month, the unused portion is gone. If you consistently leave large balances unused, downgrade to a smaller plan; if you consistently run out before the reset, upgrade or buy a wallet top-up. Don't try to bank credits across cycles — the system doesn't allow it.
Wallet top-up credits never expire
Credits you purchase as a one-time wallet top-up sit in a separate balance from your subscription quota. They have no expiry. As long as your Martini account is active, top-up credits stay in your wallet across billing cycles, plan changes, and pauses.
Wallet credits are spent only after your monthly subscription quota for the cycle is fully drawn. This protects the credits you paid extra for — heavy generations early in the month draw from the resetting subscription pool first, leaving your top-up untouched. If you upgrade or downgrade your plan, the wallet balance is unaffected and continues to roll forward.
What happens when you cancel or pause
If you cancel your subscription, you keep both balances until the end of the current billing period. After the period ends, the subscription quota stops being refilled and any remaining subscription credits expire. Wallet top-up credits stay in the account and remain spendable on the free tier or whenever you resubscribe.
Pausing a workspace plan behaves the same way — the subscription quota stops refilling, but wallet credits remain. When you resume, the subscription quota begins refilling again on the next billing date. There is no penalty for pausing and no loss of wallet balance.
Examples
- Plan grants 3,000 credits/month. You spend 1,800. The remaining 1,200 are gone at the next reset.
- You buy a 5,000-credit wallet top-up. You don't use any. Six months later all 5,000 are still there.
- You spend the full subscription quota mid-month. Subsequent generations draw from the wallet.
- You cancel after using 500 of 3,000 monthly credits. The 2,500 remain usable until the period ends.
Edge cases
- Plan changes mid-cycle prorate the new tier's quota; unused credits from the prior tier do not migrate.
- Workspace subscription credits also reset monthly — the rollover policy is identical at workspace level.
- Promotional or grant credits may have their own expiry; the offer terms specify if so.
What to do next
- Check Settings, Billing to see your current quota balance and next reset date.
- Buy a wallet top-up from Billing if you need credits that persist across months.
- Downgrade your plan from Settings, Billing if you consistently leave subscription credits unused.
